A Touch of Showbiz!

It’ll come as no surprise that our two American School Buses catch the eyes of people in TV and Film, but we’re not just for show. We also have experience in catering onsite for crew members at both large and small festivals as well as on TV and Film sets, although we can’t deny we also love being featured on the big screen. Our bus ‘Wolfie’ has starred in a Vampire movie already!

Boosting Morale with Sustainable Catering

We know that no two sets are the same in terms of location and how much space is available for the food truck itself, which is why we are flexible on how we can cater. We have used Bella on several sites with more space, serving out of the window or in a marquee, but we can also supply a gazebo pop up kitchen for simpler catering menus to take up less space.

For us, sustainability and inclusivity are at the forefront of our minds and by providing wooden cutlery and compostable festival food containers, we aim to make our catering eco-friendly. We also ensure our meals are made with locally sourced produce as much as possible, and they are filling and nutritious to keep everyone energised. Catering to dietary requirements is also not an issue as we can offer multiple choices on the menu to suit everyone’s tastes. Whether your team requires vegan, gluten-free, or other specialised meal options, we’ve got you covered. We know the days can be long, but our banging food menus do more than just fill stomachs; it boosts morale, keeps energy levels high, and helps maintain a positive atmosphere on set across the whole TV production team to ensure a successful shoot.

Sample Menus and our TV Debut!

When catering for TV and Film crew, we know that schedules can change, but our experienced chefs are used to being flexible and moving meal times around where possible. Please take a look at our delicious sample menu for an example of what we could provide for 7 day crew catering here: TV & Film

As well as serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, we can also provide a self service all day tea and coffee station, with dairy free alternative milks, herbal teas, fresh coffee and snacks if required. In addition, if the crew are on the road, we are happy to make packed lunches to keep everyone fuelled throughout the day. These can include sandwiches, bagels and baps, a snack, cake and can of drink.

Our amazing team have been lucky enough to have previously worked with both ITV and the BBC on well-known TV programmes. For example, we were on set for five weeks catering for the crew for the first series of hit series ‘My Mum, Your Dad’, which is a dating show that follows a group of single parents endeavours to find love. The team were kindly accommodated in a local hotel on a rota basis to ensure the chefs and serving team could start early for the breakfast prep and stay later if dinner got pushed back. TV presenter Davina McCall said “The Malaysian Laksa was unbelievable, the 4 bean chilli was fabulous, and my eggs were perfect! The best catering I’ve ever had while working. A lot of love had gone into the food, the meals were varied and delicious. All the staff were really lovely as well!”

Our team also provided catering for ten days on the set of popular TV show ‘The Ultimate Wedding Planner’, where aspiring wedding planners battle it out to become Ultimate Wedding Planner, as brave couples agree to let them take control of the biggest day of their lives. We were involved in two episodes during series one, the first of which was a wedding held at The Worthing Dome Cinema, and the second at a location in London. The BBC 2 Crew said “We used Old Skool Bus and Kitchen for 10 days in total while filming on location and the food provided was exceptional. There was good variety each day, all freshly made and ready to serve off the fire. Perfect portion size and good choice of dressing options for each dish as well. The crew were well fed and very happy throughout.”

As you can see, we take pride in the satisfaction of our clients and we’re really passionate about location catering in all its different forms. We are extremely excited about 2025 and building new partnerships within the festival, TV and Film industry.
