Meet the Team

Old Skool Bus Events

The team, unintentionally, is made up mostly of fabulous women, from Kate’s marketing and events assistant Angelica, to the chefs, event managers and front of house staff!

We do have a handful of equally great guys that do work on some events, so we must give recognition to Archie, Ollie, Nick and Johnny who help with logistics, back of house and as very hard working kitchen porters!

Being an independent, event catering business with seasonal flows of events across the year, the team are all experienced freelancers who regularly work on the Old Skool Bus Events.

Kate Packham

Director

Kate

Kate is the director of Old Skool Bus Events and has been working in food related job roles ever since graduating with a Business & Marketing degree, with her first job at Freedom Food, the farm animal welfare scheme of the RSPCA.

Kate absolutely loves cooking (and eating!) so she’s also worked several seasons in ski resorts as a chef in luxury ski chalets, although she usually leaves the hard work in the kitchen to the professional chefs these days! Having run a corporate event agency and delivered hundreds of events in all areas of hospitality, festivals, team building, weddings and charity events, it’s only natural she now owns her own event catering business.

Kate Packham

Chef

Libby

Meet Libby, an excellent chef who loves developing new delicious menus and making dishes look amazing.

Libby’s favourite thing in the kitchen is making canapes and ensuring they leave the pass looking pretty on the trays and tasting amazing for the guests. When she’s not in the kitchen you’ll find her in a drum and bass tent at a festival, given half the chance!

Libby has worked with us at Glastonbury Festival for three years in a row now and is also a great manager for festival crew catering jobs.

Kate Packham

Chef

Lucille

Lucille is a hot shot event manager and chef, an awesome all rounder who is flexible to jump into most roles of event catering.

She’s worked for event agencies planning high end events, as well as running her own pop-up kitchens and supper clubs.

Angelica

Marketing & Events Assistant

Angelica

Angelica graduated in summer 2024 with a first class honours degree in English and Creative writing, so it’ll come as no surprise that as our Marketing & Events assistant, she works across the website content, social media and helping Kate with events.

Angelica also works for the University and is a part time model!

Chef

Jo

Jo has been working on our events as a chef for a few years and is a brilliant team member, always laughing and keeping the morale up in the kitchen on long days.

Jo is also a great event manager, so she’s also happy to be involved in the planning of events and helping with staffing. We love Jo!

Chef

Sophie

Sophie regularly works with us on crew catering and private event functions and weddings as a chef. She runs her own catering business too and specialises in vegetarian and vegan menus.

Sophie also works in the community running cookery workshops for under privileged children, and also runs vegan cooking events. In her own time you’ll probably find her in the sea on Brighton beach, as she’s a keen sea swimmer. Brrrrrrrr!

Front of House

Ava

Ava has been working with us part time since she was 12 years old, as she is Kate’s niece! She loves serving guests, taking orders on the food truck and has even jumped in building burgers on the pass at events when we’ve had to serve long queues really quickly!

It was her first Glastonbury Festival this year with us and she came as a volunteer with her Mum too, who was our chief smoothie maker!

We suspect Ava will be wanting to be part of the festival teams regularly over the coming years and will no doubt be recruiting her college friends too!

Front of House

Laura

Laura is one of our chief front of house festival fairies and one of Kate’s best friends!

Laura is usually upside down, as she’s an aerial yoga instructor and mum. When she’s not taking part in circus skill workshops, teaching kids yoga, and hanging people upside down in crazy positions, she likes to get away on festival jobs with us… and will also be found with her head in a bass bin dancing to drum and bass too!

We also have lots of other lovely team members who work with us catering for weddings, festivals and corporate events, and we are always looking for brilliant hospitality, bar and kitchen staff.

If you’re interested in working with us drop Kate an email to hello@oldskoolbusevents.com listing your experience, availability and why you think you’d fit in nicely!
